Basketball is a special sport to me. As a player, I’ve never been drawn to such a high-contact game, but over the past few years, the girls on my school’s basketball team have left a lasting impression on me. Watching them from the sidelines—seeing their determination and connection—has been its own kind of joy.

There’s a special tension in being part of a soccer team. I played for a year myself, and even after stepping away, I’ve always loved the field—the wide stretch of green and the way the light moves across it, carrying a sense of freedom and ease.
